The Republic of Guinea is located in West Africa and bounded by Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia and Sierra Leone. The River Niger flows north from the southern highlands into Mali before turning south again through Niger and Nigeria.
