FAQ's - Backpackers Travel Insurance
Over the years we have been asked many questions and in the main we have been able to answer them. Please find below some of the more common questions we have been asked.
General Questions
- How do I receive my policy documents?
- These will be emailed to you as soon as payment has been made. You can also have them sent through the post for an additional charge.
- Do I have to take my travel insurance documents with me?
- Yes, you should take your policy certificate and policy wording with you as they provide important contact information incase of an emergency and also details what is and is not covered.
- Is there an age limit for your backpackers travel insurance?
- Yes, our backpacker travel insurance is only available to adults aged 18 - 65.
- Can I cancel the insurance policy?
- Yes, we offer a 14 day cooling off period which allows you to cancel the policy. If during this 14 day period you have travelled, made a claim or intend to make a claim then we can recover all costs that you have used for those services.
- Will my backpackers travel insurance policy cover me for repatriation?
- Yes all named policyholders are covered for repatriation back to the UK.
- Can I make any return visits to the UK during my insurance period?
- No, if you return to the UK during the period of your insurance your insurance cover finishes on the date of your return to the UK.
- What sports and activities are covered as standard?

Medical Questions
- What is an EHIC card?
- An EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) allows free or reduced medical charges in some hospitals and clinics in Europe. It is available Free of Charge, for full details about the card and how to apply click here.
- Do I need to declare any pre exisiting medical conditions or treatment I am getting from my GP?
- Yes you must declare any pre exisiting medical conditions as failure to do this may invalidate any claim.
