Backpacker Travel Insurance with Medical Conditions

Having an existing medical condition should not automatically inhibit your travel plans and at Bestbackpackersinsurance.co.uk we can offer additional cover for hundreds of medical conditions, (excluding psychological conditions.)

It is important when purchasing your travel insurance that you declare any medical condition that you may have or that you may have had in the past. Once a medical condition(s) have been disclosed to us through a series of questions, we will offer to inlcude additional cover if we can.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer our travel insurance unless, once a condition is declared, the additional premium has been paid. Travel insurance for people with existing medical conditions is designed to provide cover for the normal risks associated with travelleing abroad but also to cover your specific conditions so that if you were to fall ill abroad you will be covered for any emergency treatment that may be required.

How do I declare a medical condition?

Declaring a medical condition is easy. When you arrive at the medical declaration part of the booking process you can declare your condition(s). You will be asked a series of questions relating to your condition(s). Once the condition(s) and any other related condition(s) have been declared and relevant questions have been completed, we will offer a price to cover the conditions, there are circumstances whereby we are unable to cover some conditions, this will be made clear at the end of the process.

If you are unsure then you can always call our friendly call centre staff who can guide you through the process over the telephone.

Please remember failure to declare all medical conditions to us could result in any claim being rejected.
